About
Bella Kerfers is an emerging artist currently based in Melbourne, Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario, with an Honours Specialization in Sociology and a Minor in Studio Art. She is a dual Australian and Canadian citizen, and has spent most of her life moving around the world. Bella has exhibited numerous times at Western University, including the 2024 Annual Juried Exhibition, where she won the Peoples Choice Award for her painting "Southern Legacy." She also has work available for purchase at Red Canoe Gallery in Bala, Ontario.
Bella's studies in university, alongside her upbringing, has led her to an art practice that explores cultures. Through her art, she reflects on the experiences, traditions, society, and environments of the places she has lived. Some examples of her subject matter include meaningful textiles, a Canadian hockey legend, or a collection of family heirlooms. As a result, she experiments with different mediums, absorbing the places she resides in. While Bella is primarily a studio artist, she explores many other art forms such as music, digital design, film, photography, poetry, and fashion.
Bella is currently working in St. Kilda East, a suburb of Melbourne, exploring Australian land and culture. For inquiries on works, commission, or to get in contact, feel free to email at isabellakerfers@gmail.com or through the form below.
